We have great news that concern Seat Wars and Cooks & Crooks!
Both games are very near to start shipping.
Our fulfillment partner informed us that the parcels shall be packed by Thursday or Friday and ready for fulfillment next week, so in a couple of weeks the first backers will receive their games.
On the other hand, our freight forwarder for the games addressed to Mexican backers told us today that the games departed from port on October 27th.
Everything is moving forward! We are very sorry about the delay but very grateful for your patience and for having a smooth process with manufacture. A shoutout to our friends of Eastar for their job and guidance through the process of manufacturing these original boxes.

We had the chance to attend to Essen and we can tell you that the game boxes for both game titles are head turners and we had a lot of compliments on the bus box!
Seat Wars will be present at Roll-A-Game-Expo on December 15th/16th at Guadalajara. If you attend, you will find that Seat Wars is nominated with other titles for the best game of the fair 2018.

Mass production copy arrived!

Hello passengers!
Today we received the mass production copy of Seat Wars and we want to share it with you.
We are very satisfied with the result. The production was delayed due to some issues with the box windows. Originally we wanted them to be part of the print but then we decided to make "holes" in the box as if they were real windows. It was a complicated process but now it is finished!
We are very near to fulfill. Our manufacturer reported that the copies are finished and ready to move to our fulfillment partners.

Hello passengers!
It's been a while since our last update and we would like to apologize for it but we have great news today!
This is what's been happening since then:
We received the white sample of the game board; It was incorrect so we had to return it and point the corrections to our manufacturer.
Our manufacturer notified us about the boxes getting broken with the large windows. We fix it by changing the die cut design and had to start again.
Today our manufacturer has informed that mass production for Seat Wars is complete and they are now assembling all the games! Here are some pictures of the process:

What's next?
Our manufacturer has informed us that games will most likely be ready next week but in our experience we are expecting them to be ready in 2 weeks. From there, the cartons with the games will go to with our fulfillment partner to start shipping your rewards.
We are prepared for a late October delivery. Such a delay is as frustrating for us as it is for you because we want you to get your rewards already. Nonetheless we are very very happy with the production quality and as we stated during the campaign, our priority is to deliver a high quality fun game.

What happened in June?
We worked with our manufacturer to get each component right. Some of them were having issues - Meeples had a dent; fixed. - Instructive had some issues with margins; fixed. - Cards' bleed was very thin; fixed. - Box windows needed readjustment; fixed although not reflected on the white sample. - Metal coin color had to change; fixed; all KS exclusive metal coins for Detestable Games will be gold.

Production update

That video is the one we sent to our manufacturer to make sure the Bus Box looks as awesome as our own prototype.
What has happened these past months?
Even though the bus box was already a great idea, the Art Director from Detestable Games felt it was lacking some details to reach its full potential. So we tweaked, re-illustrated, re-adapted measures, re-quoted and made everything possible to achieve this truly unique box that is well worth of a BGG price! We believe the effort was well worth it. But, as we promised when we launched the campaign, here we are coming clean, letting you know about the bad news:
a) The project is delayed b) Currency exchange and materials in China went up.
The first issue represents a minor set back. Even though we don't like to be delayed, you will still get your rewards this year. And you will get an outstanding box, better than what anyone would have conceived. We were planning on launching the 3rd game on Kickstarter by June but we believe it is not fair with our backers; so we will focus all our attention in completing this project before launching another game.
The second issue is a big deal for us but we knew this could happen. So the members of Aether Tower and Detestable Games will place money from our own personal savings to complete the project. We wouldn't ask for more funds from you, our wonderful backers or from Andres Ayala, the designer behind this project. We are taking full responsibility to cover the difference due to the delay caused by re-working the box. All we ask from you is patience and to believe us that the product will be outstanding.
Print files were already proofread, translated to Spanish and sent to our manufacturer.
Print and Play files were sent via BackerKit.
Payment with manufacturer was already committed but we will need to transfer the extra funds due to the delay.
What will happen in June?
We are expecting to receive the White Sample in 2-3 weeks from our manufacturer. After that, massive production will start. We will share pictures as soon as we have them.
As you can see in our prototype, sleeved cards will fit, along with the wooden custom meeples. Cardboard insert will not include silver ink (our manufacturer suggested to include print inside of the box instead (and it looks more elegant). You can see the 2nd part of the video here:
